Dear Jason,
Your panels are chinese black alquered wood with inlaid stones, mother of pearl and perhaps some other material. Its a modern piece made in last 20 / 30 years. Stones can be limestone or jade and some ( blue ones for example seems to be artificially colored. These panels are made for export to the west and can be used purely as decorative pieces ( home decoration ). The characters used are readily but are not making sense. It seems to tell something about harmony in Nature but its not quite clear.

My mistake. The main panel is exactly 48 X 29.5 inch and the two sides are 48 x 12.5 each.
Both smaller panels are 47 inch x 12 1/2 inch
