I don't know much about it, my mother who is 85 said it came from her grandmother. based on my basic research, it appears to look similar to a Japanese bottle. measurements are 14" tall and 7" wide. It has been broken, so we are trying to figure out value if in perfect condition. quotes to fix are from $250 to $500 to perfect condition.
my great grandmother supposedly.
Hello Robin.
Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with Mearto. I very much apologize for the delay in your appraisal. The item presented appears to be a Japanese Imari porcelain long neck vase. These vases are typically seen in pairs. The objects are hand-painted by Japanese artisans, often depicting gardens, birds, and floral motifs. The vase appears to date to the early 20th century, possibly to the late 19th century.
Based on the images provided, it appears to vase has already been broken in the past-- cracks to the underside. It appears there has been some repair. If this object has been broken after these images, the estimated value would be effected. The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of comparable Imari long neck vases in fair condition. Thank you and please take care.
