Purchased for my Grandmother in 1955 as a wedding gift from my Grandfather. He purchased it from a dealer in Bay City, Michigan.
Indeed Japanese tea set I think from around 1950. These where mass produced in the 1930ties up to the 1960ties in Satsuma ( province of Japan ). They were famous for making these tea sets specially for export to the western countries. They are not rare and not very sought after yet. Antiques of the future.
