What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a slip cast stoneware vase, hand decorated with enamel colours, bearing a rubber stamp at the underside "Made in Japan". Since the introduction of the McKinley tariff in 1890 pottery from foreign countries had to bear the name of the country of origin in legible english. This later was changed to "made in X". Judging from the lettering, this vase might have been produced in the 1920s in Japan, according to the wishes of a US based company or department store. This vase was an inexpensive item at the time, an the value hasn´t much changed since then. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to this vase.
