I have seven Prints that were painted by someone named Ho Kahn (sic) sometime around the end of the 19th century or the beginning of the 20th century.
I bought them from an Antique shop (Tempus Fugit) in Babylon Village, NY around 1983. They were purchased from an estate sale by the owner of the shop. They were not framed when I purchased them.
Hello John,
Thank you for your appraisal inquiry with Mearto. The items presented appear to be watercolors paintings depicting coastline with mountainous landscapes. The paintings appear to depict traditional Korean landscape watercolors, which makes sense based on the name you provided of Ho Kahn, which is a Korean name. However, the red seal appears to be Chinese, likely an export seal. The works do present some condition concerns such as warping and creases to sheet and likely discoloration, which may effect value. Based on the information provided and research allotted, these works are likely created by a Korean artisan working for an export workshop, likely from China. The estimate provided is based on recent auction estimates and results of comparable landscape watercolors, dating to the early 20th century. The estimate is contingent on a full condition report and is applied to the collection as a presented. Please note asking or dealer prices may vary. Thank you and please take care.
