Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
These works are three signed oil paintings which appear to be by the American artist called Jim Carson. Also signed on the reverse, their size is 40 x 30 inches (framed) and 30 x 24 inches (sight). Their identical vintage gilt frame as well as their similar respective size indicate that they all come as a group. The A number on the back also probably indicates that at one point they were exhibited together as a group. Their subject matter features a landscape with Indians on horseback. According to the photographs provided, they all seem to be in excellent condition.
Provenance: directly by descent.
Jim Carson is an American Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1942. His work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from $469 USD to $17,925 USD, depending on the size and medium of the artwork. The estimation highlighted in red above is based on comparables offered and sold at auction in the last five years. The subject work’s size, the composition, condition (based on photographs and comments provided), as well as the artists’ current auction market were taken into consideration when determining the estimate. In many cases, pricing for similar items available on the primary (retail) market vary and are often higher than secondary (auction) market examples.
