6 feet wide and 4 feet high, it's fabricated of steel rods and sheetmetal by the artist, Jim Gary, best known for his dinosaur sculptures crafted from car parts.
I acquired it from the artist around 1971
Dear Richard,
Thank you for the additional information and your patience.
The presented object appears to be a sculpture made out of cold painted metal with the measurements of 4 x 6 feet. The sculpture was made out of steel rods and sheet metal and depicts flower and vegetable motifs. It can be attributed to the works of Jim Gary but is not signed. It was made in the late 1960s or early 1970s.
Works by this artist were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 400 to 800 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
I have not found a signature. You can see similar pieces in the book Jim Gary: His Life and Art. Photos on page 35. Jim personally hung it on my living wall in the early 1970s.
