The Ceramic Lamp is Cape Demonte Style. Approximately 40 cm X 26 cm wide at the widest point. 4 ceramic roses raised and multicoloured art work. Maybe 24 carat gold plated. It has a 2 core power chord with Baker light plug which wouldn't be original as it has an Australian plug. On the base it says Italy 8/22-30 Original sticker on it 1748 La Graziosa Ceramiche Artistiche Italy.

Hello Deb,
I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,
Considering the photographs, overall pattern, porcelain quality and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Painted Italian Porcelain Lamp. Dating back to the period between 1950-1970. The piece has a floral theme as usual to the Italian Porcelain of this period. These pieces were usually made and decorated in Bassano region or in Bassano style. The embossed motifs of flowers on the other hand are in Capodimonte style which most of the piece from this period was made in. Of course the original Capodimonte factory was a royal factory started it's journey in 18th century. These pieces are just reproductions in it's style. The painting quality is average and usually made in a careless way but in this piece we can see that the colouring of the flowers were handled better than average. The piece has handles on it's each side, which are gilted. The piece has an "Italy" mark underneath it's base, and a serial number as typical for Bassano Capodimonte reproductions. Piece has a reticulated open work decoration to it's decorative lid. A pale Turquoise was used for it's main decorational element. "1748 La Graziosa Ceramiche Artistiche Italy" is a label used on Capodimonte reproductions usually and the date 1748 is a date for original Capodimonte porcelain. The electrical infrastructure and the lamps is likely renewed and replaced by a previous owner. The piece is in good condition without visible problems, likely minimal chips to the flowers.
