Dear Frederick,
Can you please upload one focused and detailed image of the signature?
With kind regards,

the photo of the close up of the signature is the best anyone can take due to the fluidness of the signature itself, I believe, but am guessing the name could be Edward Mortimer we too are searching archives for references.
Dear Frederick Lyle von Thrauthemburg Morris,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a painting made in oil or acrylic paint on canvas with the measurements of 12 x 19 inches. The painting depicts a landscape with a river and farmhouses. The style and perspective are a hint that this artist was not an academically educated artist. The painting is signed with the name Edward Mortimer. Sadly no further information regarding the biography of this artist is mentioned in reference books or similar databases. This painting was made in the late 19th or early 20th century.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 80 to 150 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
