Painting - 14-1/2”W x 12”H Frame - 22-1/2”W x 19-3/4”H Frame damaged at upper, right corner Very dark, so may be dirty. Came from house using coal heat, so might be soot. Think it’s canvas stretched on wood
Inherited from my mother, who inherited from her mother. Might be from late 1800's, early 1900's. Grandmother was from Illinois and mother from Spokane, WA.
Dear Anne,
Thank you for your request. Please add more detailed and focused images especially of the reverse side. Thank you.
With best regards,
Georg
Dear Anne,
Thank you for the additional images and your patience. The presented object is a painting made in oil paint on canvas with the measurements of 12 x 14 1/2 inches. It depicts a landscape with a river in the foreground and a farm building in the background. The painting is not signed and the artist was probably not an academic educated painter. The style of the painting and the canvas are a hint that this painting was made around 1900 or shortly later.
An estimation would be between 100 to 200 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
Thank you for your help with this! In view of the low value I guess we’ll just keep it hanging on the wall. Thanks again!
Dear Anne,
You are very welcome.
With kind regards,
Georg
Hope these additional photos are what you need. Thanks!
