Large Buddha head on a wooden pedestal. The head is made of iron measuring 14.5 in high and 8.75 in wide. The pedestal is 6.5 in high and 9.5 in wide. Overall, height is 21in.

Thank you for contacting Mearto. This is a large iron head of a bodhisattva. The writing on the back of the stand appears to be Tibetan. The hairstyle and lotus flower suggests that she is a depiction of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara or KuanYin.
Sculptures like these often are painted with gilt and there appears to be some remnants of paint on this sculpture.
