Hi Kay,
Thank you so much for contacting Mearto regarding your appraisal. Your art pottery bowl is made of groggy stoneware clay which has been hand-thrown and hand-painted with a stylized bird designed and appears to date from the first half of the 20th century. The cipher mark on the bottom of the bowl was unable to be identified, so the artist is unknown, which is not uncommon for art pottery. Looking at recent, with in the past three years, sales of similar unidentified art pottery bowl the fair market value would be between 100-200 dollars. If you have any further question please feel free to reach out.
Best Regards,
Morgan
I have no idea where or from whom it was purchased. It may have been a gift from close friends
