Large Copper Plate with relief of Persian Wedding
Very large copper or brass artwork that depicts a scene of a wedding or festival. The piece is approximately 31 1/2 inch in diameter. Weight 22 lbs. Front of the plate has been recently polished to a brilliant shine. The rear of the plate has not been polished and reveal its approximate age of 70-80 years. The depiction is unknown to the owner, but it appears to be of a wedding with its characters dancing and drinking. The level of craftsmen on the piece is expert.
The piece was brought in Islamabad, Pakistan from a small art dealer. The piece is believed to be Persian. However, the region is known to share the same techniques for metal work, and could also be of Bangladesh or India.

Thank you for your request. The presented object is a copper tray with the measurements of 31 1/2 inches. It depicts a typical scene how we know it from Persian and Mogul period miniatures. It could be a wedding scene or is a mixture of a typical scene of a picknick from a hunting expedition and a scene from a love roman with the dancing or standing couple in the middle. This tray or plate was probably made in Pakistan in the last third of the 20th century.
This piece is in good condition and no damages are visible.
An estimation would be between 150 to 400 USD.
