No provenance to speak of. It looks as though it is from 1865 as that is the date stamped in the hilt, plus the initial A D K also stamped and US stamped as well. On the handle itself it is stamped with initials J C W and 45 on the reverse It seems all steel and bronze or brass in the handle area
