Hi Cynthia,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Also known as Louis Quatorze - this style flourished initially from 1660-17115, during the reign of the Sun King, Louis XIV and is denoted by monumental and symmetrical forms, decorative motifs (columns, pilasters, acanthus leaves, laurel wreaths, Atalantes and caryatids) borrowed from Classical Greek and Roman antiquities, opulent materials (gilt bronze or ormolu, ebony, tortoiseshell, marble and richly colored woods as well as lavish marquetry, bold carving and deep gilding. Comfort was considered secondary to appearance.
This elegant and imposing architectural lantern checks all of those boxes but was made in the late 19th or early 20th Century, during the period that looked back nostalgically at historical examples and revived them.
Based on the current market, this would likely sell at auction today for fair market (secondary market) prices ranging from $3,000 to $5,000; it's worth noting that some dealers are selling comparable examples for higher retail prices.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

If you're able to provide documented specifics surrounding connections to Eva Peron's decorator (their name, address where this once was hung and photo of it in situ) I would be happy to reconsider my valuation.
