Murano Glass Large Love Knot. Hand blown from Murano, Italy
14.5x4.5
Murano, Italy
Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Most late 20th/early 21st Century Murano sculpture and art glass is too recent to have a large body of auction records, which are what Mearto bases our appraisals on. Additionally, I suspect that if you bought this in a gallery/from a dealer, you will have paid a retail price, whereas the values Mearto provides are fair-market, for auction (secondary market), which are usually 2-3 times less than retail prices. A similar Love Knot, of slightly larger size, sold for just $500 at an auction in 2015.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
Luigi Moro (Italian, 20th/21st Century)
Love Knot
twisted glass, in an abstract form, on a circular plinth base, signed to the bottom.
14 1/2 inches tall, 4 1/2 inches wide
CONDITION: appears to be in good condition; value assumes no breaks, repairs or losses.
PROVENANCE: acquired from a gallery or dealer
$400-600*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
Thanks, Jennifer, you're all set.
I’d like to sell it for $700.
Great. If you've marked this as "for sale" with a "public" status, it is already listed on our marketplace and interested buyers can make offers to you directly (You are not obligated to accept any of them). If you can't see what the status is, or can't change it, let me know as it's not something I can see or change on my end...I'd have to ask our customer service dept to make sure it's listed.
It was hand blown in Murano, Italy. I have all the paperwork for it. It actually says Luigi Moro from what I can read.
