This is a vintage art glass platter...pink and milky white swirl. I looked at it with a UV light and it does not turn green, so I don't think it's vaseline glass. The platter is approximately 13” wide and 9” from top to bottom. Could it be Murano? It has two distinct ridges on the upper side running diagonally from top to bottom that divide the platter into 3 sections. The weight of this piece is 2 pounds 11.7 ounces. The sticker on the underside of the this platter reads "Finnins Antiques, Amite, LA."
I don't know the provenance of this platter. I find most of my items at either thrift stores or estate sales. This one was at a thrift store.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a Duncan & Miller Sanibel Pattern Pink Opalescent relish dish with two partitions. Duncan & Miller Glass Company was a glass manufacturing company in Washington, Pennsylvania. Especially in the years prior to WW II they were quite successful and many in mold blown glass items were sold all over the USA. This serving dish appears regularly at auctions. The estimate is based on auction results, "asking prices" on replacement lists are often much higher
Thanks so much! I love learning about these things and am so glad the MEARTO service is available. Thanks again...
