wind up toy, good condition lehmann # 640,with key
inherited
This is an early 20th century, around 1907 - 1919, wind-up lithograph tin-toy that was produced by Lehmann of Germany. It is the #640, entitled the Zick-Zack, or Zig-Zag and features 2 men seated opposite of each other in an apparatus suspended by a wheel on each side; one man controls the wheel and the other holds the drive shaft. When the toy is wound by key it darts in various directions. The manufacturer claimed the toy never repeated its course. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
