These were my great grandfathers, I believe from the 60's, and the have been in their leather case for over 45 years untouched. They are in great condition with only one blemish on the outer portion of the left objective lens. Working condition of the binoculars is excellent.
Hello, this item is a pair of vintage Leitz Wetzlar Trinovid binoculars, model 6x24 (serial number 641468), produced in Germany during the 1960s. The Trinovid series was introduced by Ernst Leitz GmbH (later Leica) as a premium optical line combining compact design with outstanding clarity and multi-coated lenses. The 6x24 model was particularly admired for its precision engineering, wide field of view (212 meters at 1000 meters), and robust metal body with a pebbled leather finish, characteristic of mid-century German optical craftsmanship.
Given their excellent working condition, original leather strap, and likely inclusion of the original case, this pair represents a desirable collector’s example. Comparable Leitz Wetzlar Trinovid 6x24 binoculars from this era generally sell between USD 350 and 600, depending on optical clarity, cosmetic condition, and completeness of accessories.
