What does this mean?

The appraised work is a silver-plated sculpture depicting a leopard chewing on a gold and copper-plated tree branch, executed by Mexican artist Enrique Jolly (1932-2000) for D’Argenta. The sculpture was created in an edition of 500 and the certificate that accompanies the subject work lists it as #248. Jolly was born in Acambaro and began working with clay and other sculptural materials at a young age. He studied with important artists like Don Louis Albarran y Pliego and with Don Angel Tarrac, both accomplished sculptors. Jolly exhibited his work throughout Mexico and abroad and also taught at several institutions including the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
