70 cm wide by 56 cm height wood frame
Family hand downs since 1860
This is an antique, 19th century, Victorian lithograph print, purported to date to around 1860 according to family history. These prints were generally published in black and white and the color would have been added by hand. The matting is done in a way to show the print title "Poor Children" and the image depicts young children who have likely gone door to door begging for food and coins. If the print title was not cut from the print sheet, then it is possible that the publisher name and engraver is printed at lower left and right of the print image and covered by the matting. I do not necessarily recommend removing the print from the frame and matting as it would not likely raise the estimated value.
