These items were purchased in Lebanon from local dealers. According to a befriended orthodox priest they were used during processions etc. The spoon - according to him - during church service and communion. I'd be interested to get a perspective on the authenticity and age of these items I am aware that I will probably not be able to legally sell these item to a licensed dealer in e.g. Europ because they originates in Lebanon and have no certified provenance. Am also not planning to as it is not part of my personal and private collection. Still I would be interested to find out about the story of this item and items such as these and what the approximate value would be if provenance etc could be properly established.

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a group of recent syrian fakes, an oil lamp, a spoon and a bottle, all ( unnecessarily) decorated with a cross. This was done to convince christian buyers to believe that these are objects dating to early christianity. Most of these forgeries appear on markets in Syria, Lebanon and especially in Turkey.
