Hi Kris,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Lladró is a Spanish company known for producing high-quality porcelain figurines, especially romanticized, graceful representations of people, animals, and religious or mythological subjects. The brand has become internationally recognized for its delicate, hand-crafted pieces and distinctive, soft pastel glaze.
Early pieces (1950s–1960s) are generally more valuable due to their rarity.
This piece is titled "Costumed Couple" (Spanish title: "Pareja de Época"), which was sculpted by José Puche and first issued in 1983; I don't have information on when it was retired. It came in two different glaze variations - one in the soft blues and grays like the one you have, and another more colorful version, which is quite a bit rarer and more valuable.
When the "Costumed Couple" figurine like yours comes up for auction, it usually sells for less than $100, though private sellers and antiques dealers may ask more for examples they are selling.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A near vintage Lladro hand-painted and glazed porcelain "Costumed Couple" figurine

Depicting a standing minstrel with a lute and a woman in a frilled skirt with a parasol. Marked below.

That was what the number looked like - what is the correct number?
I don't have the correct number - when I lookup #5821 on online sites like aretiredcollection.com ebay postmark or worthpoint I see a minstrel w a girl in a tutu w a lute. Is there an official spot i can verify that that's the right number? A lladro site w a catalog?
I just added a picture of the image I see when I google lladro 5821

The couple of auction sites I used in researching this showed the right figure with the wrong number and title but had accurate prices - I've since found the correct number and title and updated this appraisal - the value stayed the same.
Apologies for the initial error but you're all set now.
Have a great day,
Delia
I believe the appraisal for my Lladro piece is incorrect. While the name of the piece seems right, the reference number provided actually belongs to a swan figurine.
I've attached an image for your reference.
Could you please review this and correct the appraisal?
Thank you for your time and assistance.
2218 is the correct model number; the appraisal has been updated with this information but there's no change to value - as noted, fair-market values will be less than retail values, or prices asked by antiques dealers or private sellers.
This classification and appraisal doesn't look correct. The lladro figurine # 5821 is a minstrel standing behind a girl with a lute.
My piece is a minstrel w a lute and a girl with a parasol.
