This is a mahakala statue 38cm and weight 9kg
was in a private Austrian collection. The name of owner is available as more info. My info until now are that it is hand made shrine item. I attach a lot of pic. I upload 3 more close up pics. In reality is a very nice item and if u need more pics let me know
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a recent bowenite carving which has been treated chemically to add some kind of patina. I have been trying to find any stone that would shine like a christmas tree under UV-light. The only possibility is that the stone was carved and then treated with an unknown substance to imitate age. Forgers are known to cook stone under high pressure for month to create translucency in the stone. If exposed to sunlight for a longer period of time the thus treated stone turns brown in colour.
do u want to scratch in the bottom? with what
Please check the grooves of any very regular pattern that might have been done with a turning wheel of a dremel multitool. A uv-light / black light photo could also help to determin whether the patina was applied recently.
please check the holes in the lotus fruit, they appear to be very regular, too precise
Dear sir I took many pics close up from places where lines carved also close up pics from patina . Many pics with uv light and looks the patina not a fluorescent. was very difficult to take good pics with uv light but I done my best. The stone is hard stone and from close reminds a type of stone I saw in a post from christies. Tge stone is cold in touch. I attach a pic from the similar stone with an item from Christie's.
I like to thank u yout time to identify for sure this piece as it is a very nice for me and worth the time to check.
yhe pic I attach from Christie's banger is because tge stone looks similar to the statue stone. I dont know if this is jade or something else but if u see on some more clear parts the stone looks a bit similar to me...I'm not expert just try to help as I have it in my hands.
