Mammoth tooth Seems to have some kind of resin on some surfaces
Weight: approximately 2.5 pounds Length across top: 5.75 inches Top to bottom: 4.5 inches Width: 2.5 inches
I know nothing about it, except that I acquired it about 15 years ago at a silent auction at my son's school. It was donated by a science teacher.

Mammoths, both Woolly (Mammuthus primigenius) and it's bigger relative, the Imperial Mammoth (M. imperator) roamed the tundra of the last Ice Age. Most Mammoths disappeared between ten to twelve thousand years ago. This example is of great quality. From images, the example appears to be a whole molar without major fills or repairs to the surface. Noted resinous areas are visible; this is possible semi-fossilized bio-matter. However it is more probable that it is a previous shellac application or other preservation method/ material. Dimensions: Height 5.75 inches (crown to root) x Length 4 inches x Width 2.5 inches. Weight of 2.5 lbs.
