I inherited a family map that has been in my family for generations of Long Island which they settled around d the time the map was made. The map was made by Ro Ryder I think and the NY historical society have a similar map. Here is the link to their map. https://digitalcollections.nyhistory.org/items/136290-map-long-island-and-adjacent-areas-connecticut-new-york-and-new-jersey-ro-ryder

Hi Bill,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The market for early American maps is a bit all over the map (sorry, no pun intended) and appraising them from photos is a little complex as it's hard to always tell the tiny details that differentiate the old original maps from later copies and which can make a big difference in value.
I have not found an exact version of this map having sold previously at auction, and contemporary (late 17th Century) maps of Long Island by other cartographers and publishers widely vary in value, from several hundred to several thousand. Assuming this is correct, a conservative value would be $1,000-2,000 and - if you're interested in selling this at auction - I would contact the Historic Maps departments at either Christie's or Sotheby's in New York City, or Bonhams in Los Angeles, for their opinion as they may have more information for how many versions of this were printed, or be able to come and view it in person.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
