Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an italian alabaster bust, depicting a girl reading. These busts were very popular during the early 20th century and produced in large numbers in Volterra, Italy. The signature might read "A.Crioni" or similar. This would be just a name of an artisan. Alabaster is a very soft material and feels "warm" when touched, marble in contrast feels "stone cold". The estimate is based on current auction results. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to it.
