A marble statue of the Greek Discola on a marble plinth.
14inchs
I was at a UK University in the 1980's . There were a lot of Iranian on campus, when the Revolution started their funds dried up and they started selling their possessions, I bought this from an Iranian guy who had inherited from his parents. Its been lovely cared for at my parents house for over 40yrs but I guess could be 50-60urs old. My parents passed recently and I inherited it back.
Dear Christopher,
Thank you for your help and patience.
The presented object appears to be a statue made out of an cast mass with 14
inches heigth. The statue was made after the Antique Greek statue of the Discobol (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Discobolus). This piece was made in the 20th century.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and no severe damage is visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 100 to 200 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Gregory
