I found it in a barn (Literally) Several scratches. Some of the veneer is starting to come loose. One of the drawers is stuck. And very dirty. I have no idea what it is made of or when.Stamped B 262-11 Chest and has a Thomasville Chair Company" tag stapled to it. I have not tried to clean or repair anything. There is a matching long dresser as well.

Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Midcentury Modern maple veneer step-back chest of drawers
made by The Thomasville Chair Company, Jacksonville, Ill., circa 1960-70
Of rectangular section the recessed upper part fitted with four short drawers centering a hinged prospect door with faux double-drawer front, the lower case fitted with four long drawers, all with streamlined brass hardware and all raised on a box base.
48 inches high, 41 inches wide and 20 inches deep (at base); upper section 16 inches deep.
CONDITION: With wear, dust, scratches, lifting to veneers and some sticking to drawers.
PROVENANCE: Discovered in a barn
