Porcelain, small cross on the bottom, roughly 30cm tall, family heirloom
Owned for multiple generations, was owned by museum curator who sold it to family
Hi Jake,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
That 'X' mark is the Capodimonte mark not the Meissen mark; this would mostly likely have been made in pairs so being just the one hurts the value a little bit
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A Capodimonte hand-painted and parcel gilt figural three-light candelabra
Italian, late 19th/early 20th Century
In the form of a cherub sitting in on a bough, the branch-form arms issuing three candle cups, with applied floral decoration, on a tripod base marked underneath.
11 3/4 inches (30 cm) high
PROVENANCE: inherited; previously in the family of a museum curator
AUD $150-200*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
