What does this mean?

Hi Christina,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

The design of the chair in the image, known as the 40/4 chair, was developed by David Rowland, in 1963 and launched in 1964. It was so popular that there have been multiple knock-offs - the original chairs are valuable, the reproductions not so much.

Hi Christina,

In the interest of moving forward with this appraisal, I'm assuming these are unlabeled knock-offs and worth - in this condition $30-50 each, for a total of $630-1,050.

Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

If these end up being labeled with the maker's name, please let me know and I'll update the appraisal as necessary.

Hi yes. I added a few more photos. There are labels. Not on all though. They are falling off.

Hi Christina,
Thank you very much for the additional information and photos - I've update this appraisal. Note that if the set had all been one color, without some rust, the value would have been even higher.
You're all set here; thanks again for using Mearto.
