The design of the chair in the image, known as the 40/4 chair, was developed by David Rowland, in 1963 and launched in 1964. It was so popular that there have been multiple knock-offs - the original chairs are valuable, the reproductions not so much.

Each with rounded rectangular back of a rectangular seat with down-curving front, on a thin chrome frame. 8 are gray, 8 are yellow and 5 are black.
