Mexican bowie knife, 18th century.

Description

Gold bird head, cow hoof or horn handle with cross hatches carved in. Blade has makers mark of a diamond, the letters inside read J. DLEON. On the blade, stamped or carved in reads- N. LAREDO MEXICO was some rust on the blade, after removing it, there's minor pitting and a black tint to it. There's also damage on the handle where bugs ate their way out from the material used.
