Genuine Douglas original, produced by Douglas FURNITURE OF CALIFORNIA, INC. 1920 EAST MAPLE AVENUE • EL SEGUNDO, CALIFORNIA. Year made 1960-80 I’m a bit unsure of actual year produced. I have 6 chairs one has a very small hole on the top of the cushion. The legs which are made of brass have some tarnish but should clean up nicely. Other than that chairs are in good-very good condition
Seat height sits at 16” and is 18” wide. The top of the back seat is 34” from the floor and is 20.5” wide.
Hi Zachary,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Douglas Furniture was a mid-20th century (1940s-1960s) American furniture company known for producing well-made, stylish, and accessible home furnishings. While not as famous as names like Drexel or Baker, Douglas was respected for its solid craftsmanship, modern lines, and affordability, especially during the postwar furniture boom. The company is known for mid-century modern design, use of walnut, mahogany or blonde maple, and clean, functional lines with occasional decorative flourishes.
It's very nice to have such a large set and these appear to be in very good condition, despite the one small puncture to one of them. Smaller sets in poorer condition have sold at auction recently for an average of $150-200, making this set worth $1,000-1,500 at auction.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
