Mike Wayne Persian Rug
I have a Persian rug that I know for a fact was purchased in Tehran, Iran in 1977 or 1978. My uncle was a naval officer who worked in the pentagon for Colonel Oliver North in the late 1970's. My uncle made numerous trips to Iran working on the now infamous Iran - Contra Arms deal. One trip he came home with some pistachios and a beautiful Persian rug. I have only one picture of the rug. I know that my uncle had very expensive taste. It could have been a gift from the top Iranian Officials.

probably third quarter 20th Century (1950-1978)
With central cream-colored ground with floral elements, within a red-ground border, cream selvedges
10 by 10 feet
CONDITION: appears to be in good condition; value assumes no stains, odors, tears or repairs.
PROVENANCE: possible gift from Iranian officials, thence by inheritance
