This is a vintage writing desk by Milling Road, a division of Baker Furniture, known for quality craftsmanship and classic American design. The desk features a three-panel brown tooled leather inlay top with stitched borders. It includes three functional drawers with brass rosette pulls and tapered legs with decorative brass collars. The wood appears to be cherry or mahogany, with a hand-rubbed finish. Optional brass casters are included. Inside one drawer is a branded mark reading: "Milling Road Furniture – Division of Baker Furniture, Inc." Approximate Dimensions: Width: 44 in (112 cm) Depth: 26 in (66 cm) Height: 28 in (71 cm) without casters Condition: Structurally excellent. Surface and leather show light signs of age-appropriate wear. Original hardware intact and functional. Attachments: 8 photos included: full views, top detail, hardware, brass features, and maker’s mark. Additional Notes: I am interested in the historical background, potential valuation for resale, and whether it may be part of a known collection.

Hi Jeffrey,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
A division of Baker Furniture (which was founded in 1980), Milling Road was subsequently launched to offer more accessible, versatile, and livable designs while maintaining Baker’s commitment to quality craftsmanship and timeless aesthetics.
This writing table is in the Regency style, a period of British furniture production made roughly 1811–1830, during the regency and reign of George IV. The aesthetic is considered one of the most elegant and refined eras in English design history and it was characterized by a mix of classical influence, exotic taste, and refined craftsmanship, marking a transition between the Georgian and Victorian periods.
While not very old, this writing table has a good presence and is both highly decorative and functional; related tables - by Baker and other makers - that have sold at auction recently have brought fair market prices ranging from $500 to $800.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
