Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be an antique late Meiji period ivory Netsuke in the shape of a fat cat, signed 友亡 (?). A Netsuke is a button like ornament through which a cord runs through, it is used as a counterweight to hold a lacquered box inrō to the Obi belt. The lovely ivory carving in your possession shows a good patina and faint signs of Schreger lines, so I assume it is ivory. There is an ivory trade ban in place right now, different rules and regulations apply depending on country and state. The estimate is based on similar items sold at auction if the correct CITES certificates come with it. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the item.
