28" wide 30" long
Hi Ana,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The cut and style of this mink shawl is classic 1950s glamour. Dolly S is most likely the designer - though it's a name that I've not seen before and isn't coming up in an online search - rather than either the retailer or original owner (who would have been unlikely to embroider the name twice).
The market for vintage fur coats and styles these days varies widely, with some of the more popular brands having much greater cachet than those by lesser known or unknown makers. Comparable shawls of this age and condition typically sell for between $300 and $500 when sold at auction.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage mink shawl
unattributed maker, probably American, circa 1950s
Cinnamon-colored mink shawl, lining marked "Dolly S"
30 inches long
CONDITION: This shawl appears to be in good condition with minor wear commensurate to age and use.
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$ 300-500*
