Hello Michelle,
I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,
Considering the photographs, overall pattern, materials and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Painted Wooden Framed Mirror made in Late Ottoman Style with Anatolian Flower Motifs. The piece likely dates back to the period from 1930 to 1970. Although the style reflects an 18th, 19th century Ottoman Mirror, the tones of colours especially the occasional use of pink suggests that this piece was a reproduction is style instead of an original. These were sometimes made in Turkey, which had a superior quality wood and craftsmanship but sometimes fakes were made in Indian Market for touristic sales pruposes. The decoration is entirely floral and reflects the specific aesthetic quality of Central Anatolian Region. Many Mosques, especially some from Ankara has similar patterns as interior decorations. The piece has a border decoration of carving in style of "mihrap" which is an altar of a mosque. The piece is in good condition without visible problems, small signs of use and age.
Entirely hand painted.
