Mom's carpets
I have 3 carpets. Each is 9 x 12.i was told that one has silk in it.
I was told that my mother paid over $12000 in the 1980s for the lighter colored one.

Persian rugs are a little like cars - often very expensive when purchased new from a maker or retailer but they depreciate in value quite quickly. Only a very small quantity of antique rugs - nearly all of which were made prior to 1900, will appreciate in value. Condition is critical to value and difficult to accurately assess from photos but assumes good condition with no stains or odors.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage Persian Qum hand-loomed silk "garden" carpet
mid 20th century or later
In a light pastel palette with a stylized floral "garden" pattern overall, broad borders and cream selvedges.
9 by 12 feet
CONDITION: assumes condition is good with no staining or odors

Understood. I've appraised the carpet in the photos. If that is the one your mother purchased in the 1980s let me know and I'll add that as the provenance.
For the other two carpets, please make a separate inquiry once you can access them and take photos. Otherwise, for this one you're all set.
Hi Delia, the remaining 2 carpets are shrink wrapped so I can only access this one for now. I will submit the other two carpets at a later date thank you. I am using the carpet that is pictured but I put white towels down where I sit or walk because of the unknown value.
