I purchased a home that has a Murano chandelier in the dining room. It is made of glass and metal (aged iron maybe? it is brown in hue). An antique dealer friend confirmed that it is Murano and shared the following eBay listing with me of a similar fixture. https://www.ebay.com/itm/254432966952?hash=item3b3d62f928:g:bm4AAOSwd1tdxiay The fixture is approximately 36"W x 40"H. It is in great shape and all electrical is working. The small clusters around the chandelier hang from what appears to be swan heads.
Unknown; the fixture came with a house I purchased.
Hi Alyssa,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Yes, its Murano and the eBay link is astonishingly similar. I'm leery of the price the eBay seller is asking; as you may/not know, eBay doesn't vet their listings and people can ask whatever they want without having to provide comparable examples to justify or support their values. (It was also listed 2 years ago and doesn't say if the seller found a buyer at that price but I would guess not, though eBay never publishes the prices things actually sell for).
We prefer to reference websites like Invaluable (requires a subscription to access prices) or LiveAuctioneers, which show the fair-market values comparable works bring that are more in line with the fair-market prices we appraise things for. Recognizing that no two chandeliers are likely going to be a perfect match, here are some large Murano chandeliers and what they sold for at auction:
