My piece is 2 lbs, 15 ounces, 8” in length 6” across and 2” at its shortest point. Heighth is 2” It is a white piece with swirls on the bottom, like layers. It has many gold flecks in the glass and elongated dots, blue, green and a deep burgundy. It looks to be an ashtray or a decorative piece, maybe mid century..maybe Barovier or Tosi
I purchased it from the Salvation Army thrift store. I thought maybe it was Murano.
Hi Susan,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Yes, I would agree that this is Murano; both Toso and Barovier (or both when they collaborated) signed their works so unless you see a signature on this it would be "manner of" and not worth quite as much.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A vintage modern Murano hand-blown glass bowl
In the manner of Barovier & Toso, Made in Murano, Venice, Italy, mid 20th Century
Of asymmetrical form, the white ground boldly decorated with blue, green and brown spots; apparently unsigned or unmarked.
2 inches high by 8 inches long by 6 inches wide
CONDITION: appears to be in good condition.
PROVENANCE: acquried at a Salvation Army thrift store
$100-150*
