Pino Signoretto was a world-renowned Murano glass master known for his extraordinary skill in sculptural glass art. He was born in 1944 in Favaro Veneto, near Venice, Italy and died in 2017. He trained in Murano, beginning working with glass at the age of 10; he became a master glassmaker by 16 years old.
Pino Signoretto's works come to auction with some regularity and are not considered rare; ones that incorporate a large variety of colored glass usually bring higher prices than his monochromatic sculptures, or the ones that have a little colored glass, as in this seated cat. Comparable examples have sold at auction recently between $150 and $250.
