Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This is a very typical glass bowl made by one of the many workshops in Murano. Even at the time in the 1970s it was not possible to identify a specific manufacturer, they were all sold under the "brand" name Murano. Some of these bowls would have a paper label "Murano made in Italy". The bowl in your possession is very spectacular, in appearance similar to an octopus. Such glass bowl centerpieces were the treasure of any household, attracting attention to whatever was placed in the bowl. Today´s collectors tend to collect different pieces today, the signed Sommerso technique vases manufactured by a few well known manufacturers. The estimate is based on similar sold at auction. Asking prices in the trade can be higher and can vary.
