Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you again for using Mearto.
Very dissatisfied with your service. Looks like you spent all of 12 min. in your research. Looks like you only looked at the size of the item and recent solds. All that info was easily obtained myself!! Even that info you submitted to me was incorrect as there is the same vase on Worthpoint signed by Venini. did not make any other effort to figure out the Murano Designer. I just wanted confirmation and assumed you were an actual more knowledgeable appraiser. You really need to refund me.
Hello Joyce,
I am the managing director of Mearto and I just wanted to take a minute to address your issue with Delia's appraisal. I asked one of our other specialists, who is based in Italy and has a great deal of experience with Murano glass, to take a look and provide a second opinion, and this was his response:
I’ve just seen the vase and my comment would be that Delia was more than fair with the price range, honestly I don’t even think this is Venini because I’ve seen almost a hundred Venini pieces some new at the store and some quite old but I’ve never seen such a poor connection between the glass body and the neck. That weird white stripe surrounding the neck connection looks really off for a quality piece from Venini or any other Murano producer. The dots are perceived as contemporary by the owner but they appear to me more like careless works of 90’s or 80’s. Delia is quite right about the “puntoforme” pattern, but this is not a piece that the artist worked on much to me. $150-250 if you ask me.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly. My email address is: [email protected].
Thank you!
Best regards,
Lindsey Bourret
Managing Director, Mearto
Thanks for the additional photo, Joyce.
Ebay is becoming increasingly a retail platform with selling prices rarely disclosed and no vetting of how much people ask for things (some are asking a high price hoping they can find someone who will buy it at their asking price)
Unsigned Murano pieces of this size bring less than $500 at auction, typically in the range I have valued this at.
