Murdoch flintlock pistol
I have a Murdoch flintlock pistol. This pistol measures about 12" in length and is made out of what appears to be all steel, including the grip. The grip end is designed with what appears to be a rams horn. The gun has a ramrod built into the underside of the barrel and a flash hole pick built into the pistol grip. The entire firearm has engraving from end to end. On the left side of the pistol, a 3.5" metal clip. The trigger is a round button type of design. On the right side of the pistol is, "IO Murdoch," right below the flintlock powder pan. On the right side grip is what appears to be a crest with 3 swords and a snake woven in between the swords. On the left side of the grip is the words "Lexington" April 19, 1775. The barrel is flared on the end and looks to be smooth bore, not sure what caliber. The inside of the barrel measures about 1 1/4".

The presented object appears to be a typical Scottish all-steel flintlock pistol made by Murdoch. This pistol has a dedication naming Lexington and the date 19. April 1775. This means this pistol was presented for an anniversary or similar event. These all-steel Scottish pistols were especially worn as a sign of rank and social status with uniforms and the traditional costumes.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 3.000 to 6.000 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
