Nature made this item in an atypical size from what is usually found when collecting in Nature. Sheets cleave thin and clear some with rainbow holographic ferning.

Muscovite Mica Example

Mica is composed of silicate minerals and is found in all rock formation. This example is a dioctahedral mica from metamorphic rock where mica forms sheets and crystals. Knowing the source of the material can help to determine the age of the crystal; as mica develops at different speeds depending on its surrounding matrix. Raw Muscovite (common mica) crystallization, such as this example, are often found within tin ore and aluminum deposits. This example is of exceptional size and has a luminous appearance. The silver steel appearance is other-worldly, and must give an interesting surprise when it is lifted to revel its lightness.
Mica is in the make and manufacture of most all products. The larger examples are often used for industrial use as thin sliced window sections. The mica can withstand greater heat than a man-made glass. Mica is also used in a wide variety of home, beauty, industrial, and technology products.
When reviewing auction price results; I did not find Muscovite mics examples as a single mineral example. Most examples were with harder, rare and precious stone examples embedded within the mica or with extreme fractal crystal formation. However, for a mineral collector, this large example would be a desired example for a collection.
