Navy paisley print Jean Paul Gaultier set. One jacket, one long skirt.
Previous owner said that it was given to her by British model and friend Catherine Dyer in London in the mid 1980s. Unsure of the material but it’s soft. Shoulder pads on the coat. Skirt fits like a UK6 to 8, pictured on a 6-8 in the image provided. Coat is very oversized.

French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier (b 1952), has been considered by critics to be both a provocateur and a master craftsman—someone who pushed fashion’s boundaries while deeply understanding its traditions. "The enfant terrible of French fashion" is a phrase widely used by critics and the press, a label earned for consistently challenging norms—mixing streetwear with couture, putting men in skirts, and reworking taboo imagery into high fashion. He is known for "celebrating difference rather than perfection", embracing diverse body types, ages and gender expressions long before it became a more mainstream practice.
The jacket and skirt look like cotton or jersey (a softer cotton version) and each have a very long silhouette. Based on the measurements, this would be shown best if it were worn on a very tall and thin person.
The resale / auction market - what Mearto bases its valuations on - has been slow to track his garments, which have a stronger following among vintage clothing retailers, whose prices are higher, but if this were to come to auction, the set would likely bring between £300 and £500 compared to the £700-800 a retailer would ask for.
