Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. Your rug is a Caucasian rug in the Kazak style and dates from the mid 20th century. It was woven out of wool using the Turkish knot technique. In the Turkish Knot technique knotted around two warp and looped under the next in an S pattern as seen in the above photos. These knots are tied by hand. There can be between 500 and 1000 knots per inch. Your rug appears to be in good condition. Based on recent price realizations a fair market estimate for your rug would be between 1000 and 1500 US dollars.
