Hi Jason,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The website you're referring to (https://www.gamesboard.org.uk/cgi-pub/gardpub.cgi?table=examples&pk=1468&command=view) provides sound information and I've additionally discovered a reference for this at the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, NY (the function to search their collection seems to be down at the moment) here https://artsandculture.google.com/asset/game-nerve-croquet-westcott-jewell/LQG5f-6fHXlm8A?hl=en.
I'll be quite honest...incomplete games, however rare, usually have a very limited appeal to only the most diehard toy collectors and these are - generally speaking - aging out. Even if it was complete and included the balls, mallets and wickets, this would likely not sell for more than $100 at auction; as just the game board, you would be very lucky to get more than $50 for it at auction, and that is probably an optimistic number.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
An antique Nerve miniature croquet board
By Westcott, Jewell, circa 1890
painted wood (probably maple) with spots for inserts
7 by 14 inches
CONDITION: Lacking balls, mallets and wickets
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$ 20-40*
