Dear Angela,
I believe you have Okimono's made of Ivory. They are not made in Japan but in China in the 1970ties. In Hong kong large ateliers were cutting Ivory netsuke and Okimono in the Japanese tradition to meed the demand. There were a lot of collectors of these items in Europe and USA and to meet the demand also Chinese start making them. They always look very nice and are in most cases Elephant Ivory. The proble with that is; you cannot sell them unless you can provide a CITES certificate and in order to get that you need to show a lot of evidence including recipe of buying and export license. If you do not have the right paper work please do not try to sell them. You are in violating with CITES rules and international laws. Still if someone would walk in to your home and asked the price of this nice set you have to ask around the estimate I gave you for it.
Thanks
They are made of elephant Ivory, schreger lines are clearly visible.
My original appraisal stands.

Simon Breider
